Travel consumes a substantial part of the day, the old town has steep cobbles, and the castle complex includes stairs and restricted interiors. With a baby, success means accepting a small itinerary and choosing transport around feeds and naps, not trying to complete every attraction.
Decide whether to stay overnight
A day trip can work for families comfortable with several hours of travel in each direction, but an overnight stay removes the pressure of a fixed return. Compare current direct bus and rail options, including total door-to-door time, transfers, stroller storage, and station distance from the historic center. Timetables and operator rules change, so verify before booking.
Choose stroller or carrier
A sturdy compact stroller is useful beside the river and on some central streets, but small wheels struggle on steep rough paving.
