Stromovka offers the space that central Prague sometimes lacks: broad paths, mature trees, ponds, lawns, and room for a child to sleep while adults keep walking. It is largely easier than Old Town, but entrances differ in slope and construction or muddy weather can affect routes. Use the live map and choose a loop that ends near useful transport.
A short reset loop
Enter from the Holešovice or Výstaviště side and follow broad paths toward the central lawns and ponds before returning. This works well after a museum visit or on an arrival day. Keep the route loose so a playground, bench, or snack stop can replace distance. Check current gate and tram-stop access when events occupy the exhibition grounds.
A longer park circuit
For a substantial nap walk, continue through the lower park on paved or firm paths, circling water and open grass. Avoid unmarked shortcuts after rain, when soft edges can trap small wheels. Cyclists, runners, dogs, and children share parts of the park, so stay predictable and keep the stroller to one side without blocking the path.
Link toward Troja carefully
Families sometimes combine Stromovka with the footbridge direction toward Troja. That creates a longer day and may be affected by river works, route changes, or event closures. Confirm the current pedestrian connection and return transport before committing. Prague Zoo and the botanical garden are large destinations in their own right, so adding either is not a casual extension.
Pack for a real park
Bring water, a small changing kit, sun or rain protection, and a layer for shade. Facilities and kiosks are seasonal; verify current opening if a specific stop matters. Use the stroller brake near ponds and slopes, supervise mobile children around water, and take rubbish out. In winter, main paths may be more practical than icy side routes.
