Prague summer can combine strong sun, humid heat, crowded streets, and a sudden thunderstorm in one sightseeing day. A useful summer stroller provides shade and airflow while remaining easy to move through busy public transport. No accessory replaces breaks, hydration, and careful observation of the child, especially for young babies.
Look for shade with ventilation
Choose an adjustable canopy that blocks direct sun without sealing the seat. Ventilation panels can help when the model is used as instructed. Never cover the opening with a blanket or muslin to create shade; temperatures can rise while airflow falls. A compatible parasol may be useful, although it needs repositioning as streets turn and must not destabilize the stroller.
Build the day around conditions
Use cooler morning hours for exposed places such as Charles Bridge, Prague Castle courtyards, and riverside walks. Plan lunch, naps, or an indoor attraction during peak heat, then return outside later. Seek real shade in parks and arcades. Check the daily forecast and official heat advice because a calendar date does not predict the temperature.
Pack for sun and storms
Carry water for adults and age-appropriate drinks or feeds for the child, following normal health guidance. Bring a fitted rain cover only if it preserves ventilation, plus a light change of clothes and sun protection suitable for the child's age. Sunscreen advice differs for very young babies, so follow your clinician or recognized public-health guidance.
Check summer handling
Test the brake, because hot or crowded slopes still require control. Avoid leaving the stroller in direct sun where buckles and frames can heat up; touch surfaces before placing the child inside. Never leave a child unattended, even for a short cafe order. Clean food spills promptly as directed, since warm weather makes an unwashed seat unpleasant quickly.
