The easiest equipment return is planned at pickup, not on the way to the airport. Record the due time and exact place, keep every accessory together, and understand the provider's access and condition rules. Do not assume a self-pickup point offers flexible returns, an overnight grace period, or an alternate drop-off unless the current booking terms say so.
Create a return inventory
Photograph or list the stroller, rain cover, footmuff, adapters, travel bag, cot parts, high-chair tray, manuals, and any small item supplied. Store removed parts in one dedicated place during the stay. The night before return, empty baskets and pockets, check under liners, and match everything to the handover record.
Clean only as instructed
Remove personal rubbish and ordinary loose debris, but do not steam, bleach, machine-wash, lubricate, or dismantle equipment unless the provider and manufacturer instructions permit it. Report spills or damage honestly. Return wet accessories as directed rather than sealing them in a bag where moisture can worsen the problem.
Test and document condition
Fold and unfold a stroller, check the brake and accessories, and note any fault that developed. For a cot or chair, count parts without using a broken item again. Take reasonable return photos if consistent with the terms, especially for unattended self-service. Documentation should show condition, not conceal a problem.
Protect the travel-day schedule
Map the return point from the accommodation and then to the airport or station. Allow time for lift outages, tram diversions, traffic, and access trouble. Keep the provider contact available. If delay becomes likely, communicate before the deadline and request instructions; do not leave equipment with hotel staff, another branch, or outside a locked point without authorization.
After completing an unattended return, follow the stated confirmation process and retain the record until the provider acknowledges receipt and resolves any deposit under the agreed terms.
